What song do you hate with all your ❤?

I’m a fairly die-hard NIN/How to destroy angels/basically anything Trent Reznor fan, but it upsets me that this piece of shit is the most popular of all his tracks.

Video not safe for work, married people, those with kids, or anyone that has emotions.

Fair warning, Achy Breaky Heart is also a heat-seeking ear worm.

I love that song—it’s a caricature of a Bank Holiday in the UK

The Ketchup Song and My Humps?

Definitely My Humps.

I’m not over exposed to the Ketchup Song, but I am over exposed to that You’re Beautiful song.

Maybe that’s why it doesn’t bother me that much. I’ve heard it like twice.

#reggaeisboring

Does have a nice enough rhythm section, but… just doesn’t carry it for me. Also, idk, if I were the drummer on the average Marley song, I’d be bored out of my mind. The fills are really generally pretty minimal and the beats, while tight, aren’t that hard. There is something to be said for percussion as just being a solid backbone, but I like it more when percussion shapes the music more.

love ska tho :man_bowing:j

Beatles get me because they do a bunch of like interesting things, but then other bands took them and just did them better. Like they touch on psychedelic rock, orchestral rock, prog rock - white album is incidentally my favorite from them - but like, they never take it quite far enough for me to find it interesting as more than background music. Some of their stuff is nice, but I don’t find it amazing . Just my 2¢ tho.

Ska is just speeded-up reggae.

Maybe that’s why it’s fun? Combines tight rhythms and the soulfulness of reggae with something less like an auditory laxative - all comes out smooth.

Also, it has some significant differences in tone for sure. Not only faster, but horns more prominent. Livelier than keyboards and melodicas by a mile.

Also, seems to live longer as a hybrid genre with, say, punk.
